Peter Fonda's "Captain America" from cult movie "Easy Rider" is probably the most recognised bike in the world. This stunning replica that we have named "Spirit of Easy Rider" was designed and built not as a slavish "clone" of the Captain America bike, but to embody the ideals expressed in the film "Easy Rider", the search for freedom and individual expression. The builders used an original 1959 Harley Davidson Panhead as a starting point, which was then totally rebuilt using many individually designed and fabricated parts to create a stunning look which attracts enormous attention wherever it is shown.
For the technically minded, the engine is a 1474cc Panhead S&S Superstock, gearbox is a 6 speed Prowler, the frame was made by Santee in the USA, and the bike has 10" overlength forks and 12" ape hanger bars. Almost everything else including the rear sissy bar, hand stitched saddle, side panniers and many many more parts were made from stainless steel polished to a show finish (not chrome plate!) The bike has featured in "100% Biker" and "Big Twin" magazines, on "Southern FM" radio, on Channel 5 US TV Promotions and was a trophy winner at the 2005 Harley Davidson Rally. By the way - it GOES, too...it's fully taxed, MOT'd and insured as a 1959 Historic vehicle on an original black and silver number plate (198UXL), so can be used in films and video as a living thing, not just for static display.
