About this Vehicle

Henri Chapron originally purchased 4 door Citroen DS saloon vehicles from Citroen and customised them many of these became unique convertible variants. On the basis of a design by DS designer Flaminio Bertoni, Chapron developed a two-door convertible body that was sold through the Citroen dealer network with the FIRST series convertible presented at the 1960 Paris Motor Show. What makes TDL 181J unique is it is the FIRST official SECOND series Right Hand Drive in the world , officially certified by Chapron made to the same design and standards of the original. Whilst there are many unofficial DS cabriolet conversions, TDL 181J is an official Chapron conversion with the correct provenance and certification. Chapron licenses are issued by the Chapron family on the strict basis it meets the criteria and standards set out by Mr Henri Chapron. These cars are highly luxurious, exceptionally rare: this is in turn reflects in their inherent beauty, value and desirability.
